FAQs &  5Ws

  • Myofascial release (MFR) is for anyone experiencing

chronic pain, back pain, headaches or migraines, neck pain, whiplash, disc problems, neuroligical dysfunction, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, painful scars, sciatica, scoliosis, jaw pain, TMJ, infants & children, sports injuries, women's health issues, etc.

  • MYOFASCIAL: Muscle Connective Tissue

The myofascial system runs scalp to sole suspending the body in space. When hydrated, the waterweb structure secures nerves and blood vessels, weaves fibers in muscles to tendons, encases bones and other organs. It is everywhere, you cannot escape it.

Think of how a sweater's pulled thread efffects the comfort and shape of the sweater. Now, think of the fascial web as the sweater. The dehydrated adhesion pulls with the stress of 2,000 pounds of pressure per 1 square inch. Impinging upon nerves, vessels, misaligning skeletal structure, restricting muscles and other organs.

Once trauma, surgery, inflammatory responses ensue, the fascia instinctively braces to protect the body. Over time, the constrictive dehydrated armor yields: dis-ease, pain, decreased range of motion upon the now imbalanced structures it is meant to balance and support. Fascial restrictions go undetected in an MRI.

    MOKSHA: Emotional Emancipation

When the body endures physical trauma it is stored in emotion: energy in motion, must stay in motion. To release the emotion is to release the tension and relax the system. Emotional expression will set you free.

  • to improve quality of life

Daily we carry around the weight of past traumas, remember those numbers? 2000 lbs of pressure per x amount of square inches.

Rehydrate, drop the weight of the brace that once served its protective purpose, but now locks you in an expression limiting prison.

If you feel defeated by unexplainable diseases backed by visibly “healthy” MRIs.

If you are frustrated by cover-ups, lack of, or short-term results provided by health “care.” This is a trusted method for many's last resort.

This is where embodiment of essence occurs. Return the fascia to its intended sol state as you embrace flow & embody your truest essence.

  • You're ready to jailbreak perpetual patterns, end cycles and embrace your truest self. 2 months post surgery.

  • Is this massage?

No. Myofascial release is a tension over time, mediumless modality. Do not apply moisturizer within 24 hours of appointment time. Dry, clean skin is most beneficial for MFR.

Although MFR is not massage, massage techniques may be blended in to locate trigger points and identify other issues.

    What to wear?

Access to the most skin is most beneficial. So however you feel comfortable and secure at the beach. Bathing suit, shorts, sports bra, tanktop, etc. Leave the large sun hat at home.

How many treatments will I need?

Treatment plans vary person to person, equating to no set number. Many see results after one session. We will work together to determine what is best for you.

Coupling MFR with movement prescribed by, practiced with Myo Moksha or elsewhere will maintain tangible results.

    What is a healing crisis?

Healing is not linear. Sometimes things need to get worse before they get better. This is completely normal and nothing has gone wrong. This is the body's way of saying “Hey! I'm releasing and we need to work together to adapt mechanics to reach a deeper layer of restriction and healing.” MFR is never injurious. A healing crisis generally lasts 24-48 hours, may be shorter, may be longer.

Note where you experience discomfort, and what comes up for you. Share this information with your therapist as they are trained to support you through your healing journey. Therapy is not convenient. Trust in the process and trust your body is healing in the order it needs to.

    CANCELLATION POLICY
